Bags, belts and wallets, made in India for your brand
Accessories are judged on hardware, stitching and edges as much as on design. Sourcingo matches each style to a specialist partner unit and checks it against your approved sample.
What we make
Sourcingo's accessories catalogue covers men, women and kids:
- Backpacks, everyday, travel and kids' school backpacks
- Tote bags, structured, soft and shopper styles
- Sling and crossbody bags
- Mini handbags
- Travel and duffle bags
- Laptop and office bags, messenger bags
- Wallets and card holders
- Belts, casual and formal
- Lunch bags and pouches
Accessories are not made on garment lines. Sourcingo's seven hubs are apparel hubs, so for bags, belts and wallets we match each style to a specialist partner unit that works in that material and product type. A leather wallet maker and a nylon backpack maker use different machines, skills and suppliers.
Materials and what they suit
Material sets the look, cost, weight and the kind of unit that can make your product. The common options:
| Material | Good for | Things to know |
|---|---|---|
| Leather | Wallets, belts, handbags, office bags | Full-grain shows natural marks and ages well. Top-grain is sanded for a more even look. Split leather is cheaper and less durable. Chrome-tanned is soft and colourful. Vegetable-tanned is firmer and darkens with use. |
| Faux leather (PU) | Handbags, slings, wallets, belts | Lighter and cheaper than leather, even in colour. Quality varies a lot by backing fabric and coating thickness. |
| Canvas | Totes, backpacks, messenger bags | Sturdy cotton fabric, specified by weight. Can be waxed or coated for water resistance. |
| Nylon and polyester | Backpacks, duffles, laptop bags, school bags | Light and strong. Specified by denier: higher denier means thicker yarn. Often coated on the back for water resistance. |
| Jute | Totes, shoppers, pouches | Natural, rough texture. Usually laminated or lined to hold shape and protect contents. |
| Cotton | Totes, pouches, lunch bags | Soft, easy to print. Lighter weights suit pouches; heavier weights suit bags. |
Many styles mix materials, such as a canvas body with leather trims, or a nylon backpack with a PU base.
What to specify
A bag is a small piece of engineering. The spec needs to describe how it is built, not just how it looks. Cover these:
- Dimensions. Height, width and depth, plus strap drop and adjustable strap length. For laptop bags, the device size the sleeve must fit.
- Materials. Outer, lining and any reinforcement, with weight, denier or leather thickness where known.
- Structure. Soft, semi-structured or structured. Name any stiffeners, padding or foam, and the base.
- Hardware. Zip type and size, pullers, D-rings, buckles, magnetic snaps, rivets, feet, and the plating colour and finish. Belt buckles need style, size and finish.
- Lining and pockets. Lining fabric and colour, and every interior and exterior pocket with its size and closure.
- Edges and stitching. For leather: painted, burnished, turned or raw edges. Stitch colour and stitches per inch.
- Branding. Embossing or debossing, metal logo plates, woven or printed labels, screen print, or embroidery, with placement and size.
- Packaging. Dust bags, polybags, tissue, tags and cartons.
If you do not have technical drawings, our in-house designer can work from sketches, mood boards and reference photos to prepare the spec.
Belts and wallets: the small details
Small leather goods are where finishing shows most.
For belts, specify width, length by size (usually measured from the buckle fold to the middle hole), number of holes and spacing, keeper style, buckle and how the buckle attaches (stitched or screwed). Size belts by waist size and include a size chart.
For wallets, specify the layout: number of card slots, note sections, coin pocket and ID window. Ask about thickness when full, because a wallet that fits eight cards empty can be too fat to close when loaded.
Kids' school bags
School backpacks have their own needs. Children carry heavy loads every day, so ask for padded, adjustable shoulder straps, a padded back panel, reinforced bases and strong stitching at strap anchors. Reflective strips help visibility. Keep the empty weight low, and check the bag fits the books it needs to carry.
Minimums, sampling and timelines
Minimums start from 25 pieces per style. Custom-coloured leather, custom-dyed fabric, moulded or engraved hardware and custom zip colours can raise the minimum, because tanneries, mills and hardware suppliers work in lots. Using available materials and stock hardware, with your own design and branding, keeps a first order small. The exact minimum is confirmed after we see your specs.
Every style is sampled, and you sign off on materials, construction and finish before bulk. Sampling length depends on the style and how fast approvals come back. Production runs 45 days from sample approval to dispatch.
Quality checks
Our team monitors production on the factory floor and checks finished goods against the approved sample before packing. For bags and small leather goods, that means stitching density and straightness, edge finish, hardware strength and plating, zip action, strap anchors, dimensions, colour match and the placement of branding. If your market needs a certificate or audit, tell us at the brief stage. We match the order to a unit that holds it and share factory-wise copies before you order.
Questions
Can I get my logo embossed or on a metal plate?
Yes. Embossing, debossing, metal logo plates, labels and prints are all options. Custom metal plates and engraved hardware may raise the minimum.
Is faux leather a good choice for my brand?
It can be. PU is lighter, cheaper and more consistent in colour than leather. Quality varies widely, so compare swatches and check how the coating holds up at folds and edges.
What denier should a backpack be?
Everyday backpacks often use mid to high denier nylon or polyester for abrasion resistance. Higher denier is thicker and tougher but heavier. Ask for swatches and choose based on use.
Can you make jute or cotton tote bags with printing?
Yes. Jute and cotton totes can be screen printed. Jute is usually laminated or lined, which affects how and where it is printed.
Do you make belts in multiple sizes?
Yes. Belts are sized by waist, and each size needs its own length. Send a size chart and the breakdown per size with your quantities.
